'Birds End Regular Season with a Win

Fort Thomas Highlands closed out the regular season in a manner similar to how it began the 2016 campaign, registering a victory over a Northern Kentucky Class 6A opponent.  The 'Birds defeated Boone County 48-28 at Highlands Friday evening to finish the regular season on a 2-game win streak.  Quarterback Brady Gosney completed 10 of his 17 passing attempts for 219 yards and 3 touchdown passes in addition to scoring 2 rushing touchdowns.  Running back Grant Murray rushed for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries.  Highlands finished the regular season ranked third in its district.  The Highlands freshman team concluded its season with a 48-15 victory over Campbell County, and the Highlands JV squad came up short against Simon Kenton by a score of 44-30 to wrap up the 2016 junior varsity season.  Highlands travels to Louisville to take on Doss (5-5) in the first round of the Kentucky Class 5A playoffs this upcoming Friday at 7:30PM.
