The start of the 2016 football season approaches, as Fort Thomas Highlands is set to play Cincinnati Saint Xavier in a preseason scrimmage at Saint Xavier on Friday, August 12 at 7:00PM.  The Bluebirds have won state championships seven of the last nine years (going back to 2007) and look to build upon last season's Class 5A state semifinal run.  In 2015 the 'Birds got off to a slow start before getting into gear and capturing another district title en route to a regional championship.  Highlands will face familiar foes in 2016, as this year's schedule features the same opponents from 2015.  The Bluebirds kick off the 2016 regular season hosting Cooper on August 19.
