Highlands Caps off Regular Season with a Victory over Boone County

Fort Thomas Highlands defeated Kentucky Class 6A Boone County by a score of 32-6 Friday evening to complete the 2015 regular season. Quarterback Austin Hergott completed 14 of his 23 passing attempts for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns, while running back Nick Kendall amassed a team-best 73 rushing yards and 1 score in the game. Kicker Jared Dougherty successfully completed 3 extra-point attempts against Boone County, moving his career point after touchdown (PAT) total to 185, which is the most in the history of Highlands football. The Bluebirds won their last 4 games to finish the regular season with a 5-5 mark. Highlands, as Kentucky Class 5A, District 5 champion will host Woodford County (3-7) on Friday, November 6 at 7:30PM in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
The Highlands freshman team wrapped up its season with a 28-22 loss to the Campbell County freshman team on October 29. The Highlands JV team completed its season last week.
