Fort Thomas Highlands fell to Kentucky Class 6A Ryle by a score of 48-24 at David Cecil Memorial Stadium Friday evening.  The game was tied at halftime, but the 'Birds were unable to match the Raiders' scoring in the second half.  Quarterback Austin Hergott, returning from an injury that kept him sidelined last week, completed 14 of his 28 passing attempts for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns. Wide receiver Eric Miller led all Highlands players with 74 receiving yards.  Kicker Jared Dougherty made a 45 yard field goal in addition to successfully converting all 3 extra point attempts, which tied the Highlands record for most extra points in a career (170). Next week, the Bluebirds take on Kentucky Class 6A power Louisville Saint Xavier at home.

In other action, the Highlands freshman team defeated the Campbell County freshman squad by a score of 22-6, and the Highlands JV team knocked off the Ryle JV team by a score of 34-28 to remain perfect on the season.
